Blog /Not Flexible? Yoga Props Were Made for You!

Have you ever thought, “I can’t do yoga…I’m not flexible,” then this blog post is for you.
I hear this all the time:

“I’d love to try yoga, but I can’t even touch my toes.”
“I feel awkward in class because my body doesn’t bend like that.”
“Yoga just looks too hard for me.”

And here’s what I want you to know. You don’t have to be flexible to start yoga.
Yoga is here to help you with that.

The key to a successful practice? Be kind to yourself, Use Props, and try variations. Let’s explore how yoga can meet you where you're at. Do you have stiff hamstrings, tight hips, unsteady balance? You will find several student in a class struggling with the same issues. Knowing what works for you and what you want to work on is a BIG part of the yoga practice. Don't worry about your neighbor. They are focused on what they are doing, remembering to breathing and trying to relax the face, release the tension in the jaw. Trust me that takes a lot of work.

What are yoga Props?

Yoga props are tools such as blocks, straps, bolsters, blankets, and chairs. Props make yoga more accessible, safe, and supportive. They’re not just for beginners either. Even the most advanced yogis use them to deepen their practice.

Here’s what they do for you:
Support your body in poses you’re not quite ready to “hold” yet

Prevent injury by encouraging proper alignment

Reduce strain on your joints and muscles

Build confidence so you can explore movement with ease
